The Board of Directors of Peacemakers wishes to advise you of recent developments with respect to the ministry. As of June 2, 2010, Pastor Steve Upshur has stepped down from his role and responsibilities as Pastor. This step has been taken in order to address a previous moral lapse that has come to light. Moreover, it is intended to facilitate a process of repentance, reflection, and healing for all parties concerned. This decision has been made with the unanimous agreement of Pastor Steve, the Upshur family, and every member of the Board of Directors. Jeremiah Upshur will temporarily assume the responsibilites of Pastor.
For many years, Peacemakers has been a bridge between the urban church and suburban brethren. It has been a hope for the lost and broken of every background and every station in life. It has manifested the light of Jesus Christ in a very dark place. The work of God must continue….
We relish your prayers for this ministry and all involved. We ask forgiveness of all who have been grieved and hurt by our sin and this disclosure. We purpose by God’s grace to continue those tasks assigned us.
May the God of all peace guard your hearts and minds in the Lord Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit.
